Karren Fife Stefano, 74, of Spotsylvania County passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Stefano was born Feb. 14, 1938, in Providence, Utah, and raised in Nyssa, Ore. She was an analyst for the federal government and had various postings overseas. Mrs. Stefano was a Master Gardener, a volunteer at Mary Washington Hospital and a member of the Literary Club. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
Mrs. Stefano was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Joseph Stefano; sons David Stefano and wife Diane and Randall Stefano and wife Susan; daughters Tawnya Harvey and husband Michael and Monique McGurn and husband Michael; brother Donald A. Fife and wife Ellie; sisters Bonnie Nielson and Ann Kelly and husband James; and grandchildren Max Joseph and Colin Michael Harvey, Kyle William and Ian James McGurn, and Joseph Randall, Kathryn Susan, Elizabeth Louise, Madeline Anne and Michelle Vivian Stefano.
She was preceded in death by son James Phillip Morden Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Entombment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to a charity of one's choice.
