7 hospitalized after bus-stop crash

BALTIMORE

--Transit officials said a bus jumped a curb at a Baltimore bus stop and crashed into a shelter, sending seven to area hospitals.

Maryland Transit Administration police said the accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mondawmin Transit Center. Transit officials said four were taken to Sinai Hospital, two to Bon Secors Hospital and one to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. All of the injuries were believed to be non-life threatening.

MTA police said the driver, who has been with the MTA since 1997, would be tested for drugs and alcohol, which is standard procedure following an accident.
