Spanish network plans legal fair

SINOVA, the Spanish Information Network of Virginia, plans its third annual Legal Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Holy Cross Academy.

Representatives from the Mexican and Guatemalan Consulates are expected to attend.

There could be more than 1,000 people in attendance, said Nestor Gil, SINOVA's president. He said there's a greater demand for passports and other services by those in the Latino community in the Fredericksburg area.

Latinos also will be able to get information about the Deferred Action law enacted by President Obama in June. Catholic Charities will offer a free workshop on the law and explain details of it. Two immigration lawyers from Catholic Charities will be available at 11 a.m.

Other agencies will be available at the Legal Fair to provide information on housing, health, finance and other topics.

More information about the fair is available by calling 540/361-2117, at SINOVAinfo.org or on Facebook by searching for sinovainfo.
