I've lived in the Fredericksburg area since 1991 and have never seen such bad driving habits. Even D.C. cab drivers show more respect.
That silly little stick to the left of the steering column controls turn signals. "Up" means you are turning right; "down," left. Use it. It makes this amazingly simple.
When you turn onto a multi-lane road, stay in your lane and maneuver into the other lanes after staying in your lane for at least 100 feet. Shotgun maneuvers across multiple lanes are never legal. All intersections and highways in Virginia provide a legal means to get where you are going without dangerous actions.
While I'm on my rant, how about using headlights? While Walmart's lot might be perfectly lit, the roads you drive on aren't, especially when it is getting dark or when it is raining. Headlight use has been the law for as long as I can remember.
Lastly, I'm getting tired of being scolded by people for my attempts at driving properly. Did anyone under the age of 30 in this area pay attention in driving school?
