M. Janice Groves, 77, of Colonial Beach died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Groves was the owner and operator of Smithfield Farms Country Store in Oak Grove.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Algernon "Mickey" Groves; one daughter, Sandy Renee Dailey of Colonial Beach; two sons, Larry Ross Groves of Oak Grove and Michael Groves of Richmond; six grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, Nicholas, Mickey, Samantha and Christina; and seven great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by two children, Debra Groves and Timmy Groves; and one grandson, Kenny Hott.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at Nash and Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach. The service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randall Snipes officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery, Oak Grove.
