Eugene Washington of Fredericksburg, affectionately known as "Gene," "Kimble," "Blue" and "Poppie," departed this life Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012.
He was born July 10, 1952, to the late Mary Louise Washington Williams.
Eugene was a professional truck driver for 27 years with McLane Distribution Center, and a licensed electrician.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Beverly; daughters Simone Ferguson and Erica Hall (Michael); son Pierre Armstead; brothers Marvin Washington (Darlene), Michael Washington (Linda), Willie Brown Jr. and Preston Brown; sisters Joyce Corbin (Harold), Janice Jett (Paul), Sheila Clark (Maurice), and Paula, Ada Lee, Bonita, Denise and Tina Brown; grandchildren Torkorche, Torreik and Torjhae Ferguson, Eugene Washington and Michael Hall Jr.; Aunt Catherine Washington, who helped to raise him; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family extends very special thanks and blessings to everyone who shared well wishes, prayers, caregiving and, most of all, love and concern throughout Eugene's life and illness and to all who participated in his homegoing celebration.
