With so much attention on the national elections, I was glad to see some good news here at the local level when Susan Stimpson announced her candidacy for Virginia lieutenant governor. In my view, Susan has done an outstanding job on the Stafford County Board of Supervisors.

She has followed what I consider an ideal path for public service--proving her competence and ability to get results at a local level before asking voters to trust her with increased responsibilities. She has demonstrated good judgment, and her communication with constituents has been clear and purposeful. Susan also understands that many voters from across the spectrum appreciate good governance and responsible stewardship of our taxes and resources.

Susan is a solid candidate from our area, and I encourage voters to support her.
