John and Dawn Skinner of Port Royal celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Aug. 26, 2012.
The couple's children hosted a surprise party at the Richardsville firehouse. The couple was surrounded by their three children and their spouses, eight grandchildren and family and friends. The couple went to the Tides Inn in Irvington to cap off their celebration, which was a gift from their children.
