Michael Lee Carter Sr., 56, of Bull Shoals, Ark., formerly of Chilesburg, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012. He was born in Richmond, Va.

Mr. Carter is survived by five children, Michael Carter Jr. and his wife, Rhonda of Spotsylvania, William Carter of Caroline, James Carter and his wife, Ronni Gail Carter of Roanoke, Vicki Carter of Fredericksburg, and Christy Carter of Richmond; five sisters; three brothers; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Baptist Church cemetery, 20057 Teman Road, Beaverdam, Va. 23015.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Caroline, Box 75, Ruther Glen, Va. 22546.
