It wasn't pretty, but that's OK. Despite a 2-0 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies Monday night, the Washington Nationals had a lot to celebrate after capturing the National League East division title. It was the Atlanta Braves' 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates that allowed the Nats to back into the championship. When the Braves-Pirates score was posted in the ninth inning, Nats fans erupted into cheers. This is the first time the Nationals have clinched the National League East title since moving to D.C. from Montreal in 2005. See B1 for more.
