Return to story
Ray William Jordan Jr., 34, of Woodbridge passed on to eternity on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center after a brief illness.
Ray studied at Virginia Commonwealth University and Old Dominion University. He worked in property management with Pier Associates Management/Procam in Washington, D.C.
Ray was a thoughtful and kind young man. He was generous and found joy in making others smile. His sense of humor was refreshing to all who knew him. Ray remembered the less fortunate and the ill in special ways. He loved and enjoyed his seven SPCA pets. He found no reason to judge others by their origin or the color of their skin. Ray was a fine son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend who made us all proud and honored to have had his presence in our lives. He will be remembered with love and smiles and missed always.
Survivors include his mother, Carroll F. Jordan; brother J. Kevin Brent; sisters Kelly R. Hodge and Stephanie C. Jordan; maternal grandmother Peggy M. "Nana" Way; nephew Dustin T. Hodge; special aunts Joy A. Madison and Sherry G. Rice; and his best friend, Julio. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray William Jordan Sr.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Old Salem Baptist Church cemetery, with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Fredericksburg SPCA, 10819 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22408; or to the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, Box 1006, Fredericksburg, Va. 22402.
