Spotsy supervisors approve 10-home Lake Anna project

The Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a rezoning application for 10 lakefront homes in Lake Anna after little discussion.

Supervisor Paul Trampe cast the only vote against the development near the Southwind Shores subdivision.

The planned community, called the Estates at Terry's Run, will be on 54 acres off Days Bridge Road. Previously, only one home had been allowed on that land.

The Planning Commission recommended approval of the application in May despite opposition from nearby homeowners. Reasons for the opposition included concerns about damage to the environment and the development's impact on historic areas, including a nearby home that qualifies to be on the National Register of Historic Places.
