Ferman Dixon, 86, of Mount Holly went home to be with his Lord on Thurs day, Oct. 4, 2012, at McGuire Veterans Center in Rich mond.
He leaves to cherish his memory four children, Stephanie, Thomas, Tracy and Terrence; 10 grandchil dren; one sister, Matilda; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ferman was the owner of Vett’s Inn, a well-known restaurant and club operated for more than 50 years in Westmoreland County. Fer man was also a civic leader, truck company owner and a founder and former captain of the Westmoreland County Rescue Squad. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Salem Baptist Church in Erica, where the homegoing service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. Pastor William I. Curry will offici ate. Berry O. Waddy Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
