Return to story
Columbia Hortense "Bo" Reamy, 80, a longtime resident of Colonial Beach, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012. Her final days were spent in her home surrounded by family and friends.
Bo was born March 8, 1932, in Dogue to the late Rixey and Susie Rowley. She was one of seven children.
She was a loving mother and grandmother, and greeted everyone with her trademark smile. You could always count on Bo for a good story or joke. She had a special way with words, fondly referred to by her family as "Bo-isms." The love she shared with her family and friends was ever-present. Bo enjoyed yard sales, eating at Ola's and a ride around the point.
Bo is survived by two daughters, Gale Griffin and Jewel Hudson (Ben), and two granddaughters, Tammy Preston (Joe) and Tiffiny Pratt (Bryan), all of Montross; four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Porter, Ethan and Brooklyn; one sister, Pearl Arrington (Dave) of Ormond Beach, Fla.; one brother, Sonnie Rowley (Ruth) of Severn, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Buddy" Rowley and John "Junior" Rowley; and two sisters, Lillian Jones and Grace Farrell.
Her service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, with the Rev. DeWayne Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Historyland Memorial Park in King George. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Riverside Tappahannock Hospice, 289 Hospital Road, Tappahannock, Va. 22560.
