Democrat Cook to visit caroline

The Democratic candidate in Virginia's race for the 1st District congressional seat will visit Caroline County this week.

Adam Cook of Fredericksburg is making his first run for elected office, against Republican incumbent Rep. Rob Wittman and Independent candidate Gail Parker.

Cook will be meeting residents of Lake Caroline and Lake Land'Or at the Lake Caroline Lodge at 7 tonight. He will also attend the Bowling Green Harvest Festival on Saturday.

Caroline had been split into two congressional districts--the 1st and the 7th--but new lines approved by the U.S. Department of Justice in March put all of Caroline in the 1st District.
