Summonses were issued to the drivers ofalmost half the 77 commercial trucks inspected during Thursday's truck check conducted by the Culpeper town police with the aid of the Virginia State Police and the state Department of Motor Vehicles.

Violations to 35 drivers ranged from trucks being overweight to drivers not wearing a seat belt. The check was conducted as part of law enforcement agencies' national Operation Safe Driver Week program.
