A Manassas man was killed Thursday when he lost control of his motorcycle while passing a moving Spotsylvania school bus, police said.
William Lee Arrington, 52, crashed into a mailbox after passing the bus in the 2300 block of Mount Olive Road in Spotsylvania County about 3:20 p.m., Sheriff's Capt. Mike Harvey said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus was carrying students home from Post Oak Middle School. Some of the students may have witnessed the crash and aftermath. School system spokeswoman Rene Daniels said counseling is being made available. Harvey said speed appeared to be a factor in the accident.
