Sharon Long Tate, 47, of Alexandria died on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, as a result of an automobile accident.
Mrs. Tate was born in Somerville, N.J., a daughter of the late Kenneth Harold Long and the late Alice Lest Long. She worked for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Alexandria as an executive assistant. On Oct. 20, 2000, she married Mark Andrew Tate, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a close family friend, Milton Stowe; mother-in-law Jane Tate; father-in-law Roy Tate; sister-in-law Cindy Walker and her husband, Johnny; and two lovable cats, Weetie and Rascal.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
