Campaign signs: A metaphor?

I visited the Romney campaign headquarters in Central Park to obtain a yard sign for my mother. She has wanted a sign for weeks, but for some reason signs have not been available until recently.

A campaign worker brought a sign to me that consisted of two parts--the banner and a wire stand upon which the banner attaches. Or rather, is supposed to attach. The worker informed me the signs weren't made correctly--the banner is too small for the wire stand.

It does make me question: Do I want to entrust my vote to a candidate who claims he has the answers for fixing our national economic ailments, but cannot run a campaign capable of providing correctly made yard signs?
