Ever since Mitt Romney became the Republican candidate for president, a lot of questions have been stirred up about Mormon morals and standards.
As a Mormon myself, I can prove that putting down Romney because of these ideas is wrong. Church standards for Latter-day Saints say that abortion should not be practiced, encouraged, or supported. This standard applies specifically for the church members as a group.
People believe that Mitt Romney wants to get rid of abortion, even in the case of incest or rape. In my church, based on official church material, abortion is acceptable in the case of incest or rape, as well as when the mother's health is at risk.
Also, the story of the man from Florida being excommunicated from the church because of his criticism of Romney is incorrect.
People think Mitt Romney is a bad person because of things that aren't true, such as abortion, excommunication, and using the church to win the election. They need to research instead of going with what people told them.
