Battlefield Elementary
This week's Problem of the Week winner for fifth grade was Madeline Kenerly.
The following fifth-graders are flag bearers for the month of October: Alanah Lux, William Hallock and Bryce Jones.

Chancellor Elementary
Fifth-grade students have been learning Latin from Riverbend High School Latin students as part of the Ursus Outreach Program.
The Chancellor Mile Race was held on Oct. 20 and the following students won first place in their age groups:
Kendal Chang, 6 and under girls
Camille Trotta, 7-year-old girls
Jordan Durocher, 8-year-old girls
Anna Jockin, 9-year-old girls
Austin McNichols, 10-year-old girls
Kiersten Chang, 11-year-old girls.
Eli Irving, 6 and under boys
Jacob Wright, 7-year-old boys
Kaden Cortez, 8-year-old boys
Evan Maliszewski, 9-year-old boys
Daniel Weber, 10-year-old boys.

Courtland Elementary
The school recently hosted Kalli Dakos, an award-winning author and poet. She inspired the students to read and write poetry; but most of all, to have fun with poetry. She used a variety of props to illustrate her poems and get students and staff involved in the assembly. She even had Principal Sherri Steele kissing a pig.

The following students have the honor of being safety patrols for the months of August, September and October: Jacob Baker, Tanner Cook, Tyler Cook, Alicia Hall, Chelsea Hardin, Harry Knicely, Savannah Marcum, Summer Morris, Dylan Powers, Jeremy Rocheleau, Lane Rose, Jaycee Schatz, Sara Starkell, Johnny Tyler, Cole Waddy, Anthony Wheeler, Colton Williams and Nick Conley.

Flag bearers are Ashton Ennis, Taylor Gray, Autumn Holmes and Jacob Romero.
Studio 97 morning broadcasters are Skylar Jackman, Evan Newberry, Wyatt Schooley and Emily Simmons.
Safety patrol monitors are Natalie Buchanan, Mitchell Hanna, Jesenia Heniquez, Skylar Jackson, Karley Jarvis, Zachary Miller, Evan Newberry, Emily Simmons and Billy Virganio. Principal's Class of the Week is Diane Smart's third-grade class.
