Angela M. Kennedy

Angela M. Kennedy of Stafford County passed away at the home of her daughter Teresa on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

A native of Naples, Italy, she met her late husband, Thomas R. Kennedy, during World War II. They married in September 1945, and she moved to the United States in 1946. Her husband died in 1987.

She is survived by four children, Thomas M. Kennedy and his wife, Mary, of Annapolis, Md., Brendan J. Kennedy and his wife, Margaret, and Monica J. Kennedy, all of Baltimore, and Teresa A. Kennedy and her husband, Walter Peterson, of Stafford; five grandchildren; and beloved sister Maria Lallement of Paris, France, who moved to Stafford in 2006.

She was a devout Catholic, an avid traveler and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed painting, knitting and crocheting; she continued to donate her beautiful work to support the needy through her church until her illness prevented her.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 30, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at St. William of York Catholic Church in Stafford. Following the Mass, the family will receive friends at La Petite Aubege, 311 William St., in Fredericksburg.

Interment will in Baltimore on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012.
