Donna Stevens Boyd, 72, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, October 28, 2012. Donna was born in Washington, D.C., July 20, 1940, to Samuel Bowman Stevens and Nancy Booth Stevens. She was an educator, retiring in 1995 after 25 years with the Culpeper County School System; was founder of the Culpeper Genealogical Society; a University of Mary Washington graduate; a life member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and was an avid craftsperson.
Donna is survived by her husband, J. Harold A. Boyd of Culpeper, Virginia; children, Denise E. Boyd of Bristow, Virginia, and J. Ashby Boyd II and her daughter-in-law, Sara Sears Boyd of Manassas, Virginia; three grandchildren, Noah Patrick Jenkins, Alexander Ramon Boyd and Haiden Patrick Boyd; her stepmother, Jane Horne Stevens of Benton, Arkansas; siblings, Louise Stevens Robbins of Madison, Wisconsin, Joyce Ann Stevens Shore and her husband, J. Shore of Laurel, Maryland, Jane Elizabeth Marlow of Benton, Arkansas, Suzanne Jean Stevens of Laurel, Maryland, and Samuel Bowman Stevens III of Atlanta, Georgia.
There will be a memorial service held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Culpeper, Virginia, with Father Michael Gray officiating. Interment will be held at Shrine Mont, Orkney Springs, VA.
