John F. Yankoviak, 74, of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012.
John was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Cheboygan, Mich. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lancing; four sons, John, Joe, Chris and David Yankoviak; and seven grandchildren, Oliva, Claire, John, Krista, Madison, April and Matthew. John also had five sisters; a brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John loved life and was devoted to his family. He loved bowling and hunting, and was the world's greatest pancake maker. His warmth, kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, with a reception to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Church Building Fund.
