Richard Ortman Sr., 76, of Colonial Beach passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Richard was a former metal lather of Local Union No. 9 in Washington, D.C., and owner of a liquor store in Maryland.
He is survived by his wife, Louberta Ortman of Colonial Beach; a daughter, Marion Riggs of Moorefield, W.Va.; a son, Richard "Bugs" Ortman Jr. of Colonial Beach; two sisters, Margaret "Pinky" Hiller of Crofton, Md., and Anne Hiller of Chancellorsville; a brother, Raymond Ortman of Maryland; two grandchildren, Jennifer Riggs of Moorefield, W.Va., and Robert Riggs; and one great-grandchild, Savannah Morales of Moorefield, W.Va.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.
Richard's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Oak Grove.
