James Howard Pierce, 80, of Stafford County died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Pierce was a member of the National Guard for six years and the U.S. Navy for four years. He retired from the federal government as a certified public accountant.
Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 23 years, Karen L. Pierce; daughter Deborah Wenbourne and husband Tom of San Diego; niece Kristen Schlee and husband David of Fredericksburg; great-nephew Jordan Potter of Fredericksburg; sister Joyce Beschta and husband Jerry of Hendersonville, N.C.; grandchildren Beth Katz and husband Andy and Brock and Brett Wenbourne; and great-grandchildren Juliet and Jason.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Interment will be at a later date.
