Battlefield Elementary

The following students were recognized for being diligent workers the first nine weeks:

Third grade--Eyad Sleem, Ella Newman, Kelsie Wintersgill, Angel Gonzalez-Vasques, Jair Halaby-Camacho, Alyssa Heron, Andrew Sandy, Danyul Belton, Rebecca Lloyd, Caitlyn Bergemann

Fourth grade--Cesar Jimenez, Kaitlynn Bourne, Jesus Samayoa Donado. Leah Ellis, Kyle Moss, Kevin Myer, Ariek Boxley

Fifth grade--Matthew Minter, Kayla Fobbs, Kalee Reinhart, Elijah Campbell, Ashley Mata-Medrano, Chase Rose, Jordan Allende, Brianna Jackson, Jennifer Torres, Sophia Scott.

Chase Rose was the Fifth-grade Math Problem Solver of the Week.

Studio 97 Morning Broadcasters are Allison Berry, Scott Daley, Brittany Lamb and Zack Miller.

Safety Patrol Monitors are Natalie Buchanan, Mitchell Hanna, Jesenia Heniquez, Skylar Jackson, Karley Jarvis, Zachary Miller, Evan Newberry, Emily Simmons and Billy Virganio.

Principal's Class of the Week is Meadow Davis' third-grade class.

Battlefield Middle

The following students auditioned for and were selected for All County Band:

Flute--Paige Martin, Courtney Wolfgang

Clarinet--Kaylen Knott, Rachel Talmadge, Ariana Waldron; first alternate Cameron Allred

Alto Sax--Jenai Scrum, Jacob Thompson

Bass clarinet--Malynda Nagel

Trumpet--Rachel Peugh, Tim Quann

Trombone--Joel Marshall, Andrew Ringle

Tuba--Keith Cooley, Brandon Haynes.

Ni River Middle

Ni River Middle School sponsored a variety of activities for Red Ribbon Week to promote being drug free. The student selected logo was "Drugs Even Scare Monsters." The student council sponsored a "monster building contest" using recycled materials. Erin Clark's eighth-grade SOAR class won this contest. An individual poster contest with the same theme was held school-wide. Katie Scarbeck won first prize and received a $25 gift card to Target. The two runners-up were Cole Labossiere and Alyssa Batt.

Post Oak Middle

Students from the seven middle schools in Spotsylvania recently auditioned to earn a chair in the All-County Band. The following students auditioned and will be performing in the Spotsylvania All-County Band Concert at Spotsylvania Middle School:

Hailey Amick--alto saxophone

Sasha Anderson--clarinet

Hannah Clifford--trumpet

Helena Gill--clarinet

Jake Laxton--euphonium

Collin Rogers, trumpet; and Sarah Cuba, clarinet, are second chair alternates.
