Chase Rose was the Fifth-grade Math Problem Solver of the Week.

Ni River Middle
Ni River Middle School sponsored a variety of activities for Red Ribbon Week to promote being drug free. The student selected logo was "Drugs Even Scare Monsters." The student council sponsored a "monster building contest" using recycled materials. Erin Clark's eighth-grade SOAR class won this contest. An individual poster contest with the same theme was held school-wide. Katie Scarbeck won first prize and received a $25 gift card to Target. The two runners-up were Cole Labossiere and Alyssa Batt.

Students from the seven middle schools in Spotsylvania recently auditioned to earn a chair in the All-County Band. The following students auditioned and will be performing in the Spotsylvania All-County Band Concert at Spotsylvania Middle School:

Collin Rogers, trumpet; and Sarah Cuba, clarinet, are second chair alternates.
