The ever-popular Santa Train will have a different pickup spot this year. Because of crowds expected for the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg that weekend, the Virginia Railway Express will run its Santa Train out of the Leeland Road station in southern Stafford County instead of the city station. VRE has not yet announced when tickets will go on sale for the Dec. 8 ride. The commuter rail system also offers the Santa Trains from three other stations--Burke Centre, Manassas and Woodbridge--and tickets usually sell out fast. The rides, which raise funds for Operation Lifesaver, offer kids an opportunity to meet with Santa and Mrs. Claus on a brief train trip.
