Be more careful with endorsements, FLS

I am shocked and dismayed to see that the candidate that The Free Lance-Star endorsed, Tim Kaine, has won election. I am someone who believes in conservative values, such as pro-life, lower taxes, and fiscal responsibility, to name a few. However, the election of Tim Kaine now means that I have no representation in the Senate.

That's right, Sens. Kaine and Warner are both liberal Democrats who will vote along party lines. I find it disconcerting that although this newspaper continually calls for bipartisanship to get things done in Washington, they endorse an ultra-liberal like Tim Kaine. And please don't insult my intelligence by trying to convince me Kaine will reach across the aisle and work with the Republicans.

He was one of Obama's earliest supporters and one of three finalists for the vice presidency. The only reason he wasn't chosen was because he had no foreign policy experience. Regardless, he and Mark Warner will both be required to vote how Harry Reid wants them to vote.

I know this newspaper will endorse Mark Warner no matter what office he runs for. It will try to convince us he is a centrist, but his voting record tells a different story. I only wish the editors would look at the whole picture of a candidate before endorsing the liberal flavor of the month.
