"The Fredericksburg Campaign: Winter War on the Rappahannock." Wednesday, Nov. 28. Francis A. O'Reilly addresses Civil War Round Table of Fredericksburg. The Spotsylvania resident, author of definitive military history of Battle of Fredericksburg, will conclude two-part lecture series with a talk covering battle to Army of the Potomac's infamous Mud March, which nearly disintegrated Union's premier force. "Holidays With the Melcherses." Throughout December, Gari Melchers Home and Studio offers daily, 30-minute guided tours of the artfully decorated Georgian house of American impressionist Gari Melchers and wife Corinne. Tours start at 10:30 a.m., and are included in regular admission price. These specialty tours showcase imaginative decorations and vignettes that interpret life at the couple's country retreat. Breakfast With the Curator. 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4. Christopher Uebelhor, director of collections and exhibitions at the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center, will lecture on its "Picturing the Civil War" special exhibit. Battle of Fredericksburg 150th anniversary special events. Friday, Dec. 7 to Saturday, Dec. 15. Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park hosts bus tour, walks, talks, real-time tours, simulated shelling of town, Dec. 9 procession from Rappahannock River to Sunken Road.
