Twenty-eight years ago, the most conservative president, Ronald Reagan, was re-elected after a recession and said nothing for three more years as tens of thousands of gay men died of AIDS.
Last week, the most liberal president, Barack Obama, was re-elected after a recession, and four states affirmed gay rights. Social justice rocks.
Republicans need to learn this lesson: The country needs to move forward, not turn a blind eye to the low guy on the totem pole.
