Estelle May Shelton, 98, of Old Mill Park Terrace went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs. Shelton had worked for the FMC Corp. and Fredericksburg city schools. She was a member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. She also attended the Mary Martha Sunday school class at Fredericksburg Baptist Church.
Mrs. Shelton was the widow of Alexander Shelton Jr., and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Harding.
Survivors include two sons, Barry Shelton and wife Margaret and Glen Shelton and wife Connie, all of Spotsylvania County; two daughters, Audrey Synan and Joyce Newton and husband Charles, all of Stafford County; 12 grandchildren, Angela, Deserae, Denise, Robyn, Carla, Chuck, Cathy, Lisa, Lori, Tammy, Melody and Kenneth; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; niece Pauline Musselman of Fredericksburg; and nephew George Binns of Great Falls.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Amy Lenow and the Rev. Norman Gallimore officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Gallimore, Mark Gallimore, Erik Durand, Carlton Musselman, George Binns and Paul Dickerson. Kenneth Harding III and Chuck Newton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
