Asphalt firm moves to Caroline County

Fredericksburg Asphalt and Paving Inc. has relocated to the Ladysmith area of Caroline County.

Doug and Monica Cook's company had been on Alum Spring Road in Fredericksburg. Their new home is in an 8,100-square-foot office and warehouse building at 7419 Commerce Way in the Ladysmith Business Park.

An LLC affiliated with the Cooks purchased the property in August from Degen-Gallahan LLC for $550,000. The relocation brought 22 jobs to Caroline.
