I agree with Gary Van de Putte that everyone should be held to the same ethical standards ["Hold everyone to the same high standards," Nov. 26]. It won't happen, of course, but it's a nice idea.

Imagine if the rich and powerful were held to the same standard as the poor and meek? Imagine if officers were held to the same ethical standards as enlisted personnel? Would that be equal justice under the law?

Unthinkable!
