Soloman Redman Sr., 87, formerly of Dunnsville, departed this life Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Hunter Holmes McGuire Hospice Center in Richmond.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Alice Clarke, in 2011; and by a daughter, Dolores M. Redman, in 1996.

Soloman leaves behind to mourn four daughters, Daphne McManus, Gloria Gray, Ruby Long (Eric) and Peggy Redman; two sons, Solomon Redman II and Marvin Redman (Charlene); eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Washington Funeral Home in Tappahannock. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Dunnsville, with interment in the church cemetery.
