HH "RISE OF THE GUARDIANS" (PG) There are a few fun moments in this tale that unites Santa, Jack Frost and others against a growing evil. But it's oddly missing the wonder and joy a tale like this needs to be special. Rated PG for thematic elements and some mildly scary action. 97 min. [MC, RA, RF]

HHH "SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK" (R) Though it takes a while to find its footing, this film about a young man struggling with his bipolar condition succeeds because of a sensitive script and strong performances, especially from leads Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. Rated R for language and some sexual content/nudity. 122 min. [PV]

HHH "SKYFALL" (PG-13) The tough James Bond is back in this tale that has him battling to save his boss, M, from a terrorist. There are beautiful Bond girls, great locations and action. But thankfully, on this 50th anniversary, it's back to Bond against the bad guys, using his fists, gun and wits. Rated PG-13 for violent sequences throughout, sexuality, language and smoking. 143 min. [MC, PV, RA]

HH "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, PART 2" (PG-13) Newcomers won't be dazzled, but longtime fans who've followed the popular supernatural story of werewolves and vampires will feel this finishes things out nicely, building to a cool battle at film's end. Rated PG-13 for sequences of violence including disturbing images, some sensuality and partial nudity. 116 min. [MC, PV, RA]

HHH "WRECK-IT RALPH" (PG) An unexpectedly cute and cool-looking animated tale of a "bad guy" character in a video game who goes rogue to win respect. Rated PG for some rude humor and mild action/violence. 101 min. [MC, RA, RF]
