Crews are mobilizing equipment on U.S. 1 at Aquia Creek, located just south of Telegraph Road, in preparation for replacement of the bridge. All four lanes will remain open during the course of the project, however motorists may periodically experience brief delays in the work zone. Motorists should be alert to construction equipment entering and exiting the work zone. The project is expected to be complete in August 2015.
State Route 207 bridge replacement
Work is under way to replace the westbound Route 207 bridge over the CSX railroad tracks. Eastbound and westbound traffic have been shifted to the eastbound State Route 207 bridge. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph in work zone. Estimated completion date for the project is May.
KING GEORGE COUNTY
U.S. 301 bridge over Rappahannock
Work is under way on the U.S. 301 bridge over the Rappahannock River. The bridge connects King George County and Caroline County at Port Royal. All traffic has been shifted to the southbound lanes on bridge, with one lane open to traffic in each direction. Project is expected to be completed in July.

(Update) Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.; crews continue work to repair a slope on I-95 southbound between Exit 148 (Quantico Marine Corps Base) and Exit 143 (State Route 610/Aquia/Garrisonville) in Stafford County. The right lane will be closed near mile marker 147. Motorists should expect minor travel delays in this area.
U.S. 1 (Falmouth Bridge)
Monday-Friday, 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Motorists will be restricted to one lane periodically on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 on the Falmouth Bridge during the overnight hours. The sidewalk will also be closed to pedestrian traffic for the duration of the project. The southbound travel lanes will remain open during this phase of the project. This work is in connection with the Falmouth Bridge Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project.
