William "Billy" Hall Jr., 85, of Spotsylvania County passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Billy worked for FMC for 34 years and later retired from Kings Dominion. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a charter member of Spotswood Baptist Church and was also a member of the American Legion, Fredericksburg Seniors Association and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Billy was a quiet man who spent many happy hours tending his garden and flowers.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Hall; daughters Valerie Hall Miller and Brenda Sue Hall; brothers John "Pat" Hall (Doris), the Rev. Benjamin Hall (Shirley), Robert "Bobby" Hall, Horace Hall (Edna), Donnie Hall (Cindy) and Charles Hall; sisters Frances Harding, Hilda Beach and Ruth Ballard-Gayle (Wilson); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Hall; brothers Reuben and Adrian Hall; and grandson Alan Miller.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Spotswood Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bob Gramann, Warren Durrett, Roger Brooks, Jimmy Dillard, Willie Pickens and Adrian Hall Jr.
