Marjorie French Rogers, 92, of Colonial Beach went to heaven Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Stafford Hospital.
Marge was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, James P. Rogers.
Born in Wakefield, Mass., Marge graduated from Simmons College. She was an avid skier, enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading on her porch and the beach. In her seventies, Marge attended George Mason University, where she received a certificate in drafting. She put this to good use designing her retirement home.
Marge is survived by five children, Georgia Vinup of Colonial Beach, John Rogers of Maryland, Kenneth (Maggie) Rogers of Sperryville, James Rogers of North Carolina and Stephen (Doreen) Rogers of Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Nash and Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m.
A celebration of life with an Anglican Mass will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Grant United Methodist Church, Holy Redeemer Anglican Church, Lerty, with the Rev. Ralph Gardiner officiating.
