Jeanette Bradley Deats Myers, 73, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, with her family at her bedside.
A lifelong resident of the Fredericksburg area, Mrs. Myers was predeceased by her parents, Jesse James Bradley and Lizzie Boutchyard Bradley; her first husband, Freddie Allen Deats Sr.; her second husband, Russell Myers; her grandson, Joseph Johnson; her sisters, Delores Marrs, Louise Feducia and Audrey Tull; and her brothers, Jesse James Bradley Jr., Willie Bradley, Frank Bradley and Charles Bradley.
Mrs. Myers retired from Safeway, enjoyed collecting angels and miniature tea cups and was an enthusiastic Redskins fan. She was a wonderful cook, and her greatest joy was to prepare a feast for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons with whom she made her home in Fredericksburg, Freddie Allen Deats Jr., Richard Lee Deats and Thomas Allen Deats Myers; two daughters, Donna Deats Haney and her life partner, Beverly Haney, of Fredericksburg, and Tracey Deats and her partner, Debbie Sullivan, of Stafford; a brother, Thomas Bradley and his wife, Ruth, of Delaware; a sister, Gladys Inman of Florida; two grandchildren, Amanda Johnson Crabb and her husband, Aaron, of Colonial Beach, and William Johnson of Caroline; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
