Marian Amidon Green, 90, of Woodbridge passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at her residence.
Born in Boswell's Corner on Oct. 13, 1922, Marian was the daughter of Daniel Dewey and Nora Boswell Amidon. She graduated from Occoquan High School. Marian married James E. Green on June 15, 1946, at Quantico.
During World War II, Marian worked as a switchboard operator in Triangle. Later she worked at the U.S. Post Office in Woodbridge, retiring in 1982 after more than 25 years of service. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Woodbridge.
Marian is survived by her sister, Joan Breeding of Triangle; her daughter, Karen Donaldson, her granddaughter, Jacqueline Donaldson, and her grandson, James Donaldson, all of San Diego; her great-grandson, Kaleo Donaldson of El Cajon, Calif.; her great-granddaughter, Gabriella Donaldson of Spotsylvania County; and many beloved cousins, nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1400 G St., Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be sent to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
