Charles Edward "Charlie" Pugh Jr., 81, of Spotsylvania County died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Pugh was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran. He had also retired from Giant Food and was the former owner and operator of Sportsman One Stop at Lake Anna. He had served as mayor of Occoquan for 17 years.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Nancy L. Pugh; son Phillip Pugh (Erma) of Montgomery, Ala. ; daughter Melissa Pendergraph of Orange County; stepdaughter Valerie Butler (Duane) of Dale City; brother Bobby Pugh (Peggy) of Lynchburg; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Quantico National Cemetery.
