Christianity is due no special place here

The points made by Justin Toney in "'War on Christmas'? Purely divisive talk" were right [Dec. 16]. The U.S. was not founded on Christian principles. The Constitution makes the Founders intent clear: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The preamble provides further emphases of this: "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union. "--not God. Christianity is due no special place.

Also, as Toney emphasized, the Constitution guarantees equal protection under the law. The right to marry is guaranteed. To all. Regardless of sexual persuasion or religion.
