Willard Lee "Smokey" Dulin, 96, of Fredericksburg went to live with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, with his family by his side at his home.
Mr. Dulin was born on March 26, 1916, in Spotsylvania County. He retired from AB&W Transit with more than 30 years of service as a diesel mechanic.
He was a longtime member of Eley's Ford Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department, serving as a 1st lieutenant, and a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1655, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 4123 and Spotswood Hunt Club. Mr. Dulin was a champion bowler and horseshoe player and enjoyed playing cards.
Mr. Dulin was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Mabel Dulin.
He is survived by his daughter, Lydia Ann Lynch and her husband, Duane Lynch. He was a loving grandfather to Melanie and Timothy Romine, Christie Strong and Billie Lynch; and a great-grandfather to Brittany Southall, Sydney and Carley Romine and Hailey and Conner Strong.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at
Pallbearers will be Timothy Romine, John George, David Hargrove, Keith Southall, Gregory Hicks and Noel Ruiz. Honorary pallbearer will be Duane Lynch.
