Lake Anna was about 39 degrees Tuesday, but that didn't stop 10 brave souls from jumping in for a good cause. Off Pam and Sam Kemper's dock they leapt, all part of the 4th annual Polar Bear Plunge for Charity.

Organized each new year by Pam Kemper, the event raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Participants collected $6,600 this year, Kemper said, adding that the icy plunge is a shock to her system each year she does it.

"It does take your breath away," she said.
