James Kevin Mohler, 59, of Colonial Beach passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.
Kevin was born Aug. 21, 1953, in Arlington. He served in the U.S. Navy, where he found his passion as an air traffic controller that continued for 10 years in civilian life. He was then fortunate to find a new passion in printing, as a pressman for The Free Lance-Star. He was a member of the American Legion in Colonial Beach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell L. Mohler and Alice Mae Mohler.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Marie Mohler; a daughter, Shannon Gerwig (Erik); a son, Mark Wimberly (Rose); two granddaughters, Jordan and Kaylyn Gerwig; a great-granddaughter, Maya Wimberly; three sisters, Kathleen Park, Patricia Mohler and Pamela Rockafeller; two brothers, Robert M. Mohler and Russell L. Mohler Jr.; a goddaughter, Christine Castaldo; and 24 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, with a service beginning at noon.
Burial will be private.
