Crews are mobilizing equipment on U.S. 1 at Aquia Creek, located just south of Telegraph Road, in preparation for replacement of the bridge. Motorists should be alert to construction equipment entering and exiting the work zone. The project is expected to be complete in August 2015.
CAROLINE COUNTY
State Route 207 bridge replacement
Work is under way to replace the westbound Route 207 bridge over the CSX railroad tracks. Eastbound and westbound traffic have been shifted to the eastbound State Route 207 bridge. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph in the work zone. Estimated completion date for the project is May.
KING GEORGE COUNTY
U.S. 301 bridge over Rappahannock
Work is under way on the U.S. 301 bridge over the Rappahannock River. The bridge connects King George County and Caroline County at Port Royal. All traffic has been shifted to the southbound lanes on bridge, with one lane open to traffic in each direction. Project is expected to be completed in July.
