SMALL FIRE DELAYS AMTRAK TRAIN
An Amtrak passenger train made an unexpected stop in Stafford County yesterday afternoon because of a brake fire under one of the cars.
Mark Doyle, assistant chief of Stafford County Fire and Rescue, said passengers were moved from one passenger car to another when firefighters responded to the call near Brooke around 4:30 p.m.
He said leaves and debris on fire beneath the train's undercarriage were quickly extinguished, and that no one was injured, and the train was not damaged.
