Frances Eleanor Carr, 87, of Spotsylvania County passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital. Her daughters and grandson David Dye were by her side.

Survivors include daughters Barbara James and partner Carey Laxton and Jean Skinner and husband Alvin; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Berkley Carr; three brothers; four sisters; and son Ranny Bartlett Jr.

Frances had worked at Morganstern Pants Factory and Sunshine Laundry and waitressed at various restaurants before becoming a full-time homemaker.

At her request, her body will be donated to science, as was her husband's. There will be no services.
