Ida M. McCracken, 85, of Spotsylvania County went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013. She passed away at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. McCracken had retired from civil service. She was very active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, having served as Virginia Department president and Sixth District National Council member.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, George E. McCracken; son Guy Dudley McCracken and wife Laurel Candace McCracken of Fairfax; grandson Christopher Matthew McCracken of Fairfax; sister Elizabeth Parrish and family of Delaware; brother Joseph A. Ballard of Alexandria; and adopted daughter Betty Jo Bryant of Spotsylvania.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
